I guess I don't understand how the same people who ruined your life are inviting you to these things -- and you go. I get how it's a tragic, terrible, inexcusable murder and we should mourn the loos of life and political moderation. But you are just a better person than I. There's no way I would ever, EVER set foot in a room or extend any politeness to these people.
I don’t know, either. I’m a dismembered soul, adrift, feet among Libs, head in the big tent of Repubs, body homeless. I didn’t have to go. It was a cryptic invite. Thank you SO much for the comment.
I have to add something I forgot: it was a live-streamed funeral, in meeting hall. People sitting in chairs at this remote union location stood up, sat down, crossed themselves, and said “Amen,” at all the right moments. An older woman in the front row dressed in all white, garland in her hair, and sporting a constant blissed-out smile, plus tears, nodded, thumped her chest, and repeated, “Oh yes!” A number of times. I just watched her for moral guidance, because clearly, this lady was ecstatically happy at the heaps of salvation to be garnered there. “How have you absolved yourself against some kind of Catholic or Unitarian hell with this show?
