I was flattered to be asked onto Ben’s show. He’s a fantastic interviewer with 86,000 subscribers. We talked about how I ended up a chronically fired Minnesota teacher from 2016 to 2018 for resisting the stupidity of Black Lives Matter. All I ever hear from my liberal friends is, “Yeah, but Theo. Yeah, but Theo. You got mightily screwed over, but that’s got nothing to do with Black Lives Matter.” I recently asked someone, do you think alternate beliefs are allowed in your world? that you have freedom to speak skeptically about BLM, or about transitioning minor children? Well, he said, but he agrees with everything we’re told about BLM, that racism IS systemic. Ok, how? In what reality is racism still systemic? In banking, in housing, in prisons, in schools, in covid, in health care, he said. Ok, but do disparities demonstrate iron PROOF that systemic racism exists? Are you arguing that there must be a racist cause of every disparity? or can it be that there’s very little cause, and most disparities are correlative data? And if racism causes all this low achievement, violence, poor health outcomes, what IS THE RACIST PART? Where is the racist part? Are we still, since 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010, 2020, STILL TREATING BLACK KIDS LIKE SHIT? And where? I told him these issues are complex and will NOT be tamed by trite slogans like “In this house we believe.” I didn’t beg him to take down his Black Lives Matter or Justice for George Floyd sign. The conversation though, maybe planted some seeds of reflection. We’ve been on this topic, he and I, for seven years! Ha!
Ok, I said too much. That’s enough.
